Copyright Law in Singapore

Copyright is the exclusive legal right granted to a writer, editor, composer, publisher, or distributor to publish, produce, sell, or distribute an artistic work. Copyright affects our life almost every day. Even downloading of songs off the internet or using a newspaper photo on one's personal website, could mean the usage of copyright material.

Copyright law has been modified over the past two decades, giving copyright owners more power.

  • Films sound recordings and "live" performances.
  • TV and radio broadcasts.
  •  Published editions. For e.g. books, Corporate Brochures, scripts, photographs and music and video.
