Major Banks in Singapore

Singapore’s banking system is among the strongest in the world. The banking sector is engaged in a wide range of financial services including traditional lending and deposit-taking functions as well as corporate and investment banking activities Total banking assets under management in Singapore rose from about $92 billion in 1998 to about $350 billion in 2004.
With assets over US $504 billion and an AA credit rating, ABN AMRO Bank ranks among the top 10 banks in the world in size and strength. The banks international network comprises 3568 branches and offices in over 320 cities and 76 countries and territories.
Maybank started its operations in Singapore in December 1960 as a fully licensed commercial bank. At present it has 22Branches and 32 ATMs in Singapore to cater to the banking and financial needs of corporations and individuals. May bank currently ranks among the top five banks in ASEAN, and is a Qualifying Full Bank (QFB) in Singapore.
Societe Generale Group was established in 1864 and is ranked among the worlds top twenty five banks. It is the fifth largest bank in Europe and the ninth ranked French company in terms of stock market capitalization.
OCBC is one of Asia's leading financial services groups and one of the largest financial institutions in the combined Singapore-Malaysia market with total assests of S$183 billion.
